Every year the incoming high school freshmen class is met with plenty of anticipation and hoopla. The 2016 class has been called the best class in quite a while. So far, so good as that class looks like it will produce several impact college and possibly professional players. The 2017 class seems to be good, but not quite as deep. Right now it lacks the immediate impact players of 2016.

Here is a look at the top 10 players from the Class of 2017 to watch based on current talent and potential for future excellence:

Junior forward Zach Brown (Houston/South Kent School) committed to Wichita State over Texas, Kansas State, Providence, Creighton and Washington on Saturday. Brown is the Shockers' first commitment in the Class of 2014.

Brown's stock has risen recently after a strong spring.

Wichita St. gets 2014 wing commitment

Class of 2014 small forward Zach Brown (Houston/South Kent School) committed to Wichita State on Friday night, according to multiple reports.

The 6-foot-7 Brown chose the Shockers over Providence and Washington. He is the first recruit for Wichita State from the 2014 class.
