It was an incredibly busy weekend of action on the recruiting front, not just because of the series of high-major commitments, but also because of trimmed lists, scheduled visits, and scholarship offers, all of which have the potential to create multiple ripples on the pending domino effect.

Commitment Catch-Up

• ESPN 100 PF Craig Victor (New Orleans, La./Findlay Prep) commits to Arizona: The 31st-ranked prospect and 5th best PF in the country announced on Saturday he was heading to Arizona, giving coach Sean Miller his third high level combination forward in as many years.

This week wasn’t quite as busy as last week in the Northeast region, but there was still plenty of action. Here’s a look at a few commitments that have gone down in the last seven days:

• Robert Morris landed a commitment from Jamesville-Dewitt (N.Y.) guard Jafar Kinsey, a quick, attacking style guard. A combo guard with a college ready driving game, Kinsey gets wherever he wants on the floor and also has the potential to become a very good defender at the next level.

• Albany added a commitment from Christian Brothers Academy (N.Y.) big man Greg Stire. The local product is tough and rugged, defends the post and has a solid motor. He’ll be solid but unspectacular offensively and able to contribute some both around the rim and facing the basket.

• Fairleigh Dickinson landed a late commitment in the Class of 2013 from Canisius (N.Y.) guard/forward Matt MacDonald. The 6-foot-3 swingman is a master role player who will bring toughness and leadership to the FDU locker room. He’s also a gym rat who has worked his way into a consistent shooter over the years.

And here’s a look at some of the notable offers and visits to come across the wire this week:

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -- For the second consecutive year, the “Live in the A.C.” event offered AAU and grassroots teams an East Coast alternative to the Las Vegas tournaments that have historically served as one of the pillars of the summer evaluation period.

When the balls stopped bouncing on Friday after three days of action, We-R-1 had captured the U17 championship with a win over Expressions Elite, while Team Final Blue held off CIA Bounce in the U16 final.

Here are some of the top performances and notable recruiting news from the event, which included ESPN 100 prospects like Abdul-Malik Abu and Jared Terrell and fast-rising ESPN 60 recruit Derrick Jones.

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. -- On the heels of the invitation-only Summer Classic East event, the Hoop Group concluded the second week of the evaluation period with its Summer Jam Fest this past weekend. The Jam Fest welcomed a much larger field of players and presented us with a variety of intriguing storylines and a who’s who list of coaches in attendance to see ESPN 100 stars Goodluck Okonoboh, Kaleb Joseph and Abdul-Malik Abu.

Here’s what caught our eyes in Philly.

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. -- The Hoop Group’s annual Summer Classic East event kicked off the second week of the July evaluation period with a highly selective, invitation-only field of the top teams in the northeast. The loaded event featured a pair of ESPN 100 talents in point guard Kaleb Joseph (No. 51) and Pascal Chukwu (No. 58), No. 38 junior Moustapha Diagne and No. 21 sophomore Kassoum Yakwe, leading to a slew of college head coaches from all levels making sure their presence was noticed.

Here’s how things went down in the Keystone State.
