Phil Mickelson grouped with Jason Day, Rory McIlroy at Baltusrol

The year's final men's golf major championship kicks off just 11 days after the third ended with Open Championship runner-up Phil Mickelson in one of the marquee pairings at next week's 98th PGA Championship.

Mickelson, who won the 2005 PGA at the same venue that is hosting this year's tournament -- Baltusrol's Lower Course -- will be playing alongside defending champion and world No. 1 Jason Day, as well as 2012 and 2014 PGA Champ Rory McIlroy. The trio gets underway at 8:30 a.m. ET on Thursday.

Other notable Thursday/Friday groupings include Ernie Els, Zach Johnson and Rickie Fowler (7:40 a.m. ET) and Jordan Spieth, Bubba Watson and Sergio Garcia (1:25 p.m. ET.) They will all begin their quest for the Wanamaker Trophy just outside New York City in Springfield, New Jersey.

The traditional pairing of the year's first three major winners of Danny Willett (the Masters), Dustin Johnson, (U.S. Open) and Henrik Stenson (Open Championship) will set off on Baltusrol's Lower Course starting Thursday at 1:45 p.m. ET.

For the opening two rounds, the first tee times start at 7 a.m. ET and the final pairings of the day hit the course at 2:15 p.m. ET.
