#AskCoachB: Big start for the Big East
By Paul Biancardi
Want to ask ESPN RecruitingNation national recruiting director Paul Biancardi a question about basketball recruiting? Tweet it to @PaulBiancardi using the hashtag #AskCoachB.
The new Big East is off to a very good start in recruiting for the Class of 2014, as the conference has nine of the top ESPN 100 players already verbally committed. Providence, Georgetown, Villanova and Seton Hall are off to impressive starts. Some names to remember are Jalen Lindsey (Providence), Isaac Copeland (Georgetown), Mikal Bridges, Villanova) and Angel Delgado (Seton Hall).
The Big East has built an incredible name in the basketball world, and when you look at the future of this conference, it will be dictated by the recruiting of the head coaches. If I had to give the Big East a grade today it would be an A-minus. They have plenty of high-level talent coming in, but no superstars.
It's still relatively early in the recruiting process, as today starts the recruiting calendar for college coaches to begin home visits, school visits and evaluations. Campuses have already been in full swing, so expect more commitments to happen.
