MILWAUKEE -- The Under Armour Summer Jam presented by NY2LA Sports had a number of high-level matchups on Day 1. But the one that had everyone's attention on Wednesday -- including a who's who of college head and assistant coaches -- was when a pair of unsigned post players who are being pursued by every elite college basketball program in the country squared off.
ESPN 100 No. 2 overall prospect Cliff Alexander (Chicago/Curie) of the Mac Irvin Fire and No. 10 recruit Myles Turner (Euless, Texas/Trinity) of Texas Select 17 met up on Wednesday night. The Fire beat Texas Select 59-36, but to witness the talent, size, power and skill that make Alexander and Turner special players was worth the few possessions they defended each other even though the game had already been decided.
