Class of 2013 point guard Nigel Johnson (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist) committed to Kansas State over the weekend just a few weeks after decommitting from George Washington, according to the Washington Post.
Johnson, who originally chose GW in October, wound up picking K-State over Missouri.
"I talked it over with my family and we all felt like it was a good choice where I could go in and make an impact as a freshman, and that's what I was looking for," Johnson told the paper. "It was almost neck and neck, but Kansas State had a slight lead. Once I had a chance to see who was going where and seeing that Missouri would have three point guards, that just made it one hundred percent that I was going to Kansas State."
Johnson is expected to visit Kansas State this week and sign his letter of intent shortly thereafter. He joins a class that includes SG Wesley Iwundu (Houston/Westfield), SG Marcus Foster (Wichita Falls, Texas/Hirschi), PG Jevon Thomas (Queens, N.Y./St. John's NW Military) and C Neville Fincher (Teaneck, N.J./Hargrave Military).
