ESPN Los Angeles, citing a source close to the program, reported on Wednesday that former Wake Forest shooting guard J.T. Terrell (Charlotte, N.C.) has committed to USC's 2012 class.
Terrell left Wake Forest in September following his arrest on charges of driving while impaired and driving after consuming alcohol near the Winston-Salem, N.C. campus. The driving after consuming alcohol charge was reportedly dropped when Terrell pled guilty to DWI. The Winston-Salem Journal reported that Terrell received a 60-day jail sentence, which he'll serve following a year-long probation term.
Terrell will spend this season at Peninsula College in Port Angeles, Wash. The 6-foot-3 shooter was the second leading scorer for the Demon Deacons as freshman last season (11.1 ppg). Terrell was ranked No. 49 in the ESPNU 100 for the Class of 2011. He will join a Trojans class that also features shooting guard Larry Lewis (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and power forward Strahinja Gavrilovic (Serbia).
