PG Brandon Randolph commits to Pepperdine

The Pepperdine Waves landed a verbal commitment over the weekend from three-star point guard Brandon Randolph (Playa Del Rey, Calif./St. Bernard). Randolph first announced his decision over his Twitter account and it was confirmed by multiple sources.

The 6-foot-1 lead guard held offers from San Diego State and Southern California and interest from Texas A&M and Iowa.

ESPN.com Recruiting Coordinator Joel Francisco describes Randolph as a "physical combo-guard who has the talent to be an instant impact recruit."

"It's all about consistency with his jump shot, particularly his pull-up game," Francisco continued. "But in terms of his physical intangibles, he's one of the best in the state."

Randolph is the third recruit for the Waves in 2013, joining guard Jeremy Major (Pasadena, Calif./Maranatha) and power forward Dylan Jones (Houston/The Village School).

"Pepperdine has a trio of guards in sophomore Jordan Baker as well as the incoming Major and now Randolph," Francisco added. "The Waves will have one of the more explosive backcourts in the WCC."
