Florida State head coach Leonard Hamilton announced Wednesday the signing of 7-foot-1 center Michael Ojo (Lagos, Nigeria/Tennessee Temple High School) to a national letter of intent.
Ojo averaged 15.0 points and 14.0 rebounds this past season at at Tennessee Temple on his way to being named an All-American at the 2012 National Association of Christian Athletes. He will join shooting guard Montay Brandon (Greensboro, N.C./Wesleyan Christian), shooting guard Aaron Thomas (Cincinnati/Brewster Academy), point guard Devon Bookert (Anchorage, Ak./Impact Baskeball Academy), center Boris Bojanovsky (Slovakia/Canarias Basketball Academy) and power forward Robert Gilchrist (London/Polk State College) next season in Tallahassee.
"We are excited about this group of players and the opportunity that each one of them will have to help our team continue to build on the foundation we already have in place," said Hamilton. "Michael fits in well with the high-character type of student-athletes already included in this class. We are going to have patience with this group but they will grow as individuals and their progress will be evident quickly."
