Point guard Madison Jones (Raleigh, N.C./Ravenscroft School) ended his recruitment on Saturday when he verbally pledged to Wake Forest. ESPN's Dave Telep confirmed the news.
Jones, ranked No. 34 on the point guard list on ESPN.com, chose the Demon Deacons over offers from Seton Hall, American University, East Carolina and Georgia Southern.
ESPN.com's National Recruiting Director describes Jones as a "steady, wiry, athletic lead guard. He has good speed to push the pace on the break but can also put the breaks on in the halfcourt.
"He's best scoring the ball on drives to the basket and is always looking to find an open teammate," Biancardi added. "Defensively he possesses good lateral movement and can keep opposing guards in front of him, especially when he adds strength to his frame."
"Playing for (Ravenscroft) coach Kevin Billerman, who was a former college head coach at FAU, Jones will be a well groomed teammate with high character in the locker room and on campus. With the transfer of guard Tony Chennault, this becomes an important commitment for the Deacons."
He joins a class rated No. 23 on ESPN.com's Recruiting Nation. Along with Jones, head coach Jeff Bzdelik will welcome seven new faces in the fall, including Codi Miller-McIntyre (Charlotte, N.C./Hargrave Military), Arnaud Moto (Alexandria, Va./Episcopal H.S.), Aaron Rountree (Wilson, N.C./Greenfield School), Devin Thomas (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin H.S.), Tyler Cavanaugh (DeWitt, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt H.S.) and Andre Washington (Roanoke, Va./Hargrave Military Academy).
