Point guard Denzel Ingram (Chapel Hill, N.C./Chapel Hill H.S.) made his college choice last weekend, giving Charlotte a verbal commitment, according to the Charlotte News & Observer.

The 6-foot Ingram was named the Carolina 3A Conference player of the year the past two seasons. He averaged 23.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.2 steals as a senior and finished his career with 1,570 points.

"Denzel is a leader and a winner," Chapel Hill head coach Tod Morgan told the paper. "He has been a coach's dream."

Ingram will join forward Willie Clayton (Thomasville, Ga./Thomasville H.S.), forward Darion Clark (Conyers, Ga./Oak Hill Academy) and guard Shawn Lester (Mooresville, N.C./Mooresville H.S.) in the 49ers incoming class.
