Texas head coach Rick Barnes announced his 2012 signing class on Wednesday - the final day of the early signing period.
Slated to join the Longhorns next fall will be ESPNU 100 point guard Javan Felix (New Orleans, La./St. Augustine H.S.), ESPNU 100 center Prince Ibeh (Garland, Texas/Naaman Forest H.S.), power forward Connor Lammert (San Antonio, Texas/Churchill H.S.) and small forward Ioannis Papaetrou (Melbourne, Fla./Florida Air Academy).
"Our entire staff is really excited about this class as they truly fill needs in our program," said Barnes. "All are outstanding basketball players. More importantly, they are all outstanding people who come from solid families, high school coaches and AAU coaches. They all will be excellent student-athletes here at The University of Texas.
"We again targeted the state of Texas first for its best players, and we found them with Prince and Connor," Barnes continued. "And our school's calling card also allowed us to recruit nationally and internationally with Javan and Papi. When you combine this year's group of current freshmen and add this class, we believe the pieces fit."
Noticeably missing from the announcement is ESPNU's No. 3 center Cameron Ridley (Fort Bend, Texas/Bush H.S.), who did not sign his letter of intent. His AAU coach told ESPN's Dave Telep that Ridley will attend Texas but would not sign early.
With Ridley in the fold, the Longhorns have the sixth ranked class in the country.
