Cougars land Westwind guard

Washington State landed its second commitment of the week and fourth overall when shooting guard Demarquise Johnson (Phoenix/Westwind Prep) chose the Cougars on Saturday.

The 6-foot-2 Johnson chose Wazzu over Gonzaga, UNLV and Washington.

"The opportunity to play in the Pac-12 and have an immediate impact was too much for him to pass up in the end," his AAU coach, Clint Parks, told ESPN.com.

Earlier in the week, small forward Richard Longrus (Oakland, Calif.) committed to the Cougars. Center Richard Peters (Toronto, Ont.) and forward Brett Boese (Spokane, Wash.) are alos on board in 2012.
