6-foot-10 power forward Jordan Hare (Saginaw, Mich.) made his college decision on Wednesday, verbally committing to Rhode Island, according to The Saginaw (Mich.) News.
Hare's choice came following an official visit to URI last weekend.
"It wasn't a case of wanting to make a decision so I wouldn't have to worry about it during the season," Hare told the paper. "Everything just felt comfortable when I went to Rhode Island.
"I liked the coaches, the system, the school. I had no problem seeing myself playing there."
Hare held high major offers from in-state schools Michigan and Michigan State. He is the first recruit for the Rams and head coach Jim Baron in 2012.
