Small forward B.J. Gladden (Charlotte, N.C./Olympic) just returned home from a visit to Akron and made his decision to commit to the Zips over an offer from Tennessee.

"I'm going to Akron," Gladden told ESPN.com. "I love the coaches and the facilities and I am originally from Ohio. [Head coach] Keith Dambrot has great energy, he gets on you and puts a lot on your plate but he cares about his players. They win and go to NCAA tournament, plus my uncle Lebron Gladden played for coach Dambrot at Ashland university."

B.J. plays the small forward position and he helps his team by attacking defenders off the dribble, rebounding and defending. He had a very good spring and summer for the CP3 AAU program. He stepped up his effort and played with an urgency that was not there prior.

He will help Akron with his college ready frame by finishing plays and rebounding on both ends and competing at all times.
