Oregon State head coach Craig Robinson announced on Tuesday the addition of 6-foot-9 forward Olaf Schaftenaar (Utrecht, Netherlands/Real Club Nautico) to the Beavers 2012-13 roster.

The Dutch forward is the younger brother of former OSU player Roeland Schaftenaar (2007-10). He averaged 13.6 points in 30 games for Real Club Nautico de Tenerife in Spain last season and was also a member of the 2010 and 2011 Dutch Under 18 national teams.

"We couldn't be more happy to add another quality player to the program especially this late," Robinson said. "We're equally excited about having another Schaftenaar to play for Oregon State. His length and shooting touch is a welcome addition along with his international experience."

Schaftenaar joins fellow incoming freshmen Jarmal Reid (Decatur, Ga./Columbia), Victor Robbins (Compton, Calif./Compton), Maika Ostling (Dayton, Ore./Dayton) and Langston Morris-Walker (Berkeley, Calif./Berkeley).
