Iowa State head coach Fred Hoiberg landed his second ESPN 100 recruit on Wednesday with a commitment from point guard Monte Morris (Flint, Mich./Beecher), ESPN.com has confirmed.
The 6-foot-1 Morris will join shooting guard Matt Thomas (Onalaska, Wisc./Onalaska) in the future Cyclone backcourt.
"This is a huge get for Iowa State," ESPN.com Recruiting Coordinator John Stovall noted. "Monte is a very skilled and talented lead guard who continues a strong pipeline from Michigan for the Cyclones.
"He's a scoring point guard and one of the top floor generals in the Midwest whose stock has really improved over the last year. Morris and Thomas give Hoiberg a high scoring backcourt which seems to be his recruiting plan since taking over in Ames."
Morris chose Iowa State over Arizona State, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Rhode Island and USC.
