Maryland recruit headed to prep school

6-foot-9 center Damonte Dodd (Centreville, Md./Queen Annes County H.S.) had decided to take a year of prep school before enrolling at Maryland, according to the CBS affiliate in Washington D.C.

The unheralded Dodd committed to the Terps as a senior in February with the hopes of joining the team this summer. He will now spend a year at Massanutten Military Academy in Woodstock, Va.

"It's great to have Dodd coming aboard," Massanutten coach Chad Myers told the affiliate. "He will be a big help for us and a lot of great potential to get even better and help Maryland in 2013.

Dodd becomes UM's first recruit for the 2013 class.
