K-State gets 2013 forward

New Kansas State head coach Bruce Weber landed his first recruit from the 2013 class on Sunday with a verbal pledge from small forward Alex Etherington (Arcadia, Ind./Hamilton Heights).

The 6-foot-6 Etherington chose the Wildcats over New Mexico, Xavier, Boston College, Boston University and St. Joseph's. His decision came while on an unofficial visit over the weekend.

"When I was there, I fell in love with everything about it," he told the Indianapolis Star. "There weren't any negatives. Everything felt right."

Etherington averaged 22.1 points as a junior in 2011-12 after suffering a severe head injury while attempting a slam dunk as a sophomore.
