Utah lands in-state guard

Shooting guard Parker Van Dyke (Salt Lake City, Utah/East H.S.) ended his recruitment on Monday with a verbal pledge to Utah, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.

The 6-foot-3 Van Dyke chose the Utes over Utah State and Arizona State.

"There was nothing that recruiters were doing wrong, and they were all great to me," Van Dyke told the paper. "But it's been a long process, and I want to get it over with. Coach K [Larry Krystowiak] can kinda start to focus on coaching me now, and it's exciting."

Van Dyke is the second recruit for the Utes in 2013, joining point guard Julian Jacobs (Las Vegas/Desert Pines H.S.) who committed in March.
