Cincinnati lands 2013 guard

According to ESPN.com's Dave Telep, Cincinnati head coach Mick Cronin landed a verbal commitment from senior-to-be Troy Caupain (Midlothian, Va./Cosby H.S.) on Friday.

The 6-foot-3 shooting guard chose the Bearcats over Richmond, Virginia Tech, Virginia and Missouri.

"Troy's probably going to play a combination guard role for the Bearcats," Telep said. "UC had good success with kids who flew somehwat under the radar from Virginia, the most recent being JaQuon Paker."

Caupain is the first recruit from the 2013 class for Cronin and his staff.
