ESPN.com has confirmed that Loyola Marymount landed a verbal commitment from center Patson Siame (Las Vegas/Impact Basketball Academy) on Monday.
Siame came to the United States from Zambia in January. He was recently named to the World Roster for the Nike Hoop Summit on April 7 in Portland, Ore.
"Although he still has work to do, Patson is more advanced offensively and has a better feel for the game than the usual young African big men that come to play in the States," said ESPN.com's Mike LaPlante. "He has he potential to be the biggest impact for the school's basketball program since Hank Gathers and Bo Kimble arrived on campus."
Siame is the fourth recruit for the Lions in 2012. He joins forward Nick Stover (Los Angeles, Calif./Windward School), center Tobe Okafor (Pittsfield, Maine/Maine Central Institute) and forward Taj Adams (Los Angeles/Fairfax H.S.).
