COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The USA Basketball Developmental National Team minicamp featured some of the nation's best high school talent representing the classes of 2014, 2015 and 2016. Head coach Don Showalter and his staff put the players through numerous intense and competitive drills, controlled scrimmages and game situations in this four-workout, two-day minicamp.

Note: ESPN 100 No. 1 overall player Jahlil Okafor didn't play on Day 1 after rolling his ankle during a one-on-one in the post drill.

Here are a few players who were impressive this weekend from the ESPN 100, 60 and 25 rankings.

ESPN 100 Standouts

Best Motor
Myles Turner (Bedford, Texas/Trinity)
C, 6-foot-11, 225 pounds
Considering: Kansas, Ohio State, Texas, Duke, Arizona, Kentucky, Louisville, Oklahoma State

Turner's talent and shot blocking is well-documented, but his consistent motor also makes the big fella special. Regardless of the outcome of the possession, Turner never stops playing. He runs, jumps and competes at a high level, which makes him stand out.

Four-star guard Robert Johnson (Richmond, Va./Benedictine Prep) has come a long way in the past year. This time a year ago, he had only some mid-major scholarship offers, and he fondly recalls his first offer.

"I still remember when (UNC Greensboro head coach) Wes Miller offered me a scholarship,” Johnson said. “I was so excited."

These days, Johnson is one of the fastest-rising and most sought-after recruits in the country thanks to strong performances this spring and summer on the travel circuit playing for Boo Williams, the powerful AAU program out of Virginia.

Staley to play two at Mississippi State

Elijah Staley (Marietta, Ga./Wheeler), a four-star, dual-threat quarterback on the gridiron and a three-star small forward on the hardwood, has committed to play both football and basketball for the Bulldogs, the Clarion Ledger reports.

"I love the whole college town," he said. "It seems like one big family there. I love their facilities and love their coaching staff for both basketball and football. It's SEC and the fan base down there is ridiculous."

The 6-foot-6, 208-pound standout originally committed to Vanderbilt in April but went back on the market in May after it became apparent that the Commodores wanted him to focus on one sport.

Appalachian State, Boston College, Marshall, Massachusetts and Virginia were his other football offers.

Staley is a key addition for the Bulldogs, who recently lost their prized quarterback recruit from 2013. Four-star Cord Sandberg (Bradenton, Fla./Manatee) was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the third round of the Major League Baseball Draft and signed for $725,000.

Mississippi State has nine commitments for 2014.
