Juco Chris Cantino picks Xavier

Small forward Chris Cantino (Philadelphia, Pa./Palm Beach C.C.) has committed to Xavier.

His former coach at Rise Academy, Sam Rines, posted the following to his Twitter account:

"Chris Cantino has decided to attend Xavier. He committed to Iona at first but it was without moms blessing. Mom wanted Chris away so......"

The 6-foot-7, 220-pounder was rated as a two-star coming out of Rise Academy in 2010.
New Florida International head coach Richard Pitino added another piece to his incoming class on Wednesday with a commitment from power forward Jerome Frink (Jersey City, N.J./St. Anthony H.S.), according to multiple sources.

Amadou Sidibe picks Stags

Six-foot-8 power forward Amadou Sidibe put an end to his recruitment on Monday when he verbally committed to Fairfield, the New York Daily News reported.

The Ivory Coast native did not play basketball until his freshman year at Cardinal Hayes (Bronx, N.Y.).

"If you had asked me when I was younger if I would be in the position I am now, I wouldn't have believed you," Sidibe told the paper. "I had to work hard to get where I am now. I feel like I came a long way."

Sidibe chose the Stags over Iona, Quinnipiac and Marist. He is the first recruit in 2012 for new head coach Sydney Johnson.

ESPN.com Recruiting Coordinator Adam Finkelstein reported on his New England Recruiting Report site that power forward T.J. Parker-Rivera verbally committed to Towson on Monday.

The 6-foot-6 Parker-Rivera chose the Tigers over Boston University, Iona and Temple.

"I went down to Towson two weeks ago and really liked the campus and the players," he said. "Coach (Pat) Skerry came to my school and spent time talking to my family, and I knew I wanted to commit."

Parker-Rivera becomes part of an impressive first recruiting class for Skerry. He also has pledges from point guard Frank Mason, point guard Jerome Hairston and power forward Barrington Alston.
