Center C.J. Turman commits to Vols

Tennessee landed its fourth recruit from the 2014 class on Sunday when four-star center C.J. Turman (Madison, Ga./Morgan County) committed to the Vols, ESPN.com has confirmed.

Alabama, Georgia, Houston and Miami were among the schools to offer Turman.

Turman joins a class that features ESPN 100 point guard Larry Austin (Springfield, Ill./Lanphier) along with four-star prospects Phil Cofer (Atlanta/Whitewater) and Jordan Cornish (New Orleans/Brother Martin).

ESPN 100 SF Oubre headed to Findlay

ESPN 100 small forward Kelly Oubre (Fort Bend, Texas) has decided to spend his senior year at Findlay College Prep in Henderson, Nev. Findlay head coach Todd Simon announced the news on Friday.

Oubre averaged 23 points and 11 rebounds per game for Bush High School last season. The five-star prospects currently holds offers from Alabama, Arizona, UConn, Baylor, Houston, Kansas and Memphis, among others.

The Findlay Pilots finished last season at 35-1 and ranked No. 3 in the final ESPN 25 Power Rankings.

Iowa State nabbed its first 2014 recruit on Monday night when point guard Clay Custer (Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley Northwest) announced his verbal commitment.

Power forward Johnathan Motley (Houston/North Shore) will stay in his home state and play for the Baylor Bears. The 3-star prospect committed late on Wednesday.

University of Houston head coach James Dickey announced the signing of junior college point guard Tione Womack (Randallstown, Md./Hagerstown C.C.) on Thursday. He is the second juco guard to sign with the Cougars this week, joining Brandon Morris (Kansas City Kansas C.C.).

"We are excited to have Tione join our program. He has been a proven winner everywhere he has competed, and we look forward to his leadership on our team," Dickey said. "Tione has a pass-first mentality that creates easy scoring opportunities for his teammates and is a quick, solid on-ball defender."

The Houston Cougars signed a fourth recruit on Wednesday for thier 2012 class, currently ranked No. 18 on ESPN.com.

Junior college point guard Brandon Morris (Alexandria, La./Kansas City C.C.) inked his letter of intent, head ocach James Dickey announced.

"We are thrilled to have Brandon join our Cougar family," he said. "He is an explosive lead guard with great court vision. He can defend as well as score. Brandon will add experience to our backcourt."

Morris aveaged 16.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists as a sophomore at KCKCC. He joins two ESPNU 100 prospects, Danuel House (Sugar Land, Texas/Hightower) and Danrad Knowles (Houston/Homeschool Christian) along with Valentine Izundu (Katy, Texas/Lamar Consolidated) in the Cougars' incoming class.

Utes nab Georgia guard

Georgia native Justin Seymour (Smyrna, Ga.) ended his recruitment on Monday when the 6-foot-4 senior verbally committed to Utah.

Seymour first announced his decision via his Twitter account which was subsequently confirmed by multiple sources.

"I've made the decision to continue my educational interest & basketball at The University of Utah of the Pac 12," Seymour wrote.

FAU nabs in-state forward

Florida Atlantic landed a verbal commitment on Monday from 6-foot-8 power forward Chris Bryant.

Bryant is a Tallahassee native who is spending a post-graduate year at Fishburne Military Academy in Virginia. Florida State, Virginia Tech and Houston were all involved in his recruitment at one point.

According to www.myfoxhouston.com, 6-foot-11 center Valentine Izundu gave Houston a verbal pledge on Tuesday, choosing the Cougars over Texas, Marquette, Arkansas, Tulsa and SMU.

"He just told me he committed to the University of Houston," his former coach at Cypress Lakes High, Emmanuel Olatunbosun told the Fox affiliate. "He's excited about staying at home and playing. He's got family and friends here. He's excited about the recruits that they picked up this year."

Izundu is a native of Lagos, Nigeria, the home of former Houston great and NBA Hall of Fame center Hakeem Olajuwon. He joins a class currently ranked No. 13 on ESPN.com and features two ESPNU 100 prospects, small forward Danuel House and power forward Danrad Knowles.
