Auburn landed a commitment from ESPN 100 small forward Sam Logwood (Indianapolis/La Lumiere) on Sunday, according to multiple reports.

The 6-foot-7 wing holds offers from Creighton, Mississippi State, Iowa, Bradley, Indiana State and Miami (Ohio). Logwood is the first recruit in the 2014 class for the Tigers.

Chicago big man picks DePaul

Six-foot-10 center Thomas Hamilton Jr. (Chicago/IMG Academy) gave DePaul a commitment for its 2013 class on Sunday, ESPN.com has confirmed.

Hamilton is a Chicago native who left Whitney Young H.S. last summer to attend IMG Academy in Florida this year. He was garnering interest from Bradley, Illinois and Boston College.

DePaul adds junior college big man

On Sunday DePaul landed a verbal commitent from center Forrest Robinson (Eastland, Texas/South Plains College).

The 6-foot-10 Robinson chose the Blue Demons over offers from Bradely, Mississippi State, St. Louis and Tennessee Tech.

"It wasn't one thing," he told ESPN Chicago. "Everything was great. I'm going to help them spread the floor. We're going to play fast-paced, run the floor and have fun, my style of basketball."

Robinson spent one season at North Texas (2011-12) before leaving for South Plains. He joins ESPN 100 point guard Billy Garrett Jr. (Chicago/Morgan Park) in DePaul's 2013 class.

SF Sean O'Brien will be a Saluki

Southern Illinois landed a verbal commitment from in-state small forward Sean O'Brien (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) on Monday, according to The Mundelein Review.

O'Brien held 13 scholarship offers and had narrowed his choices to the Salukis, Santa Clara, Northern Illinois and Bradley.

"The Missouri Valley Conference is probably one of the best conferences in the country," he told the paper. "I loved the coaching staff, and the team. And I was impressed with how important basketball is down there [in Carbondale]."

O'Brien is the first recruit for SIU in the 2013 class.

Two-star receiver Dondre Alexander (Iowa City, Iowa/West) has a decision to make, and it isn’t about which college he wants to play football at. It is whether he wants to play football at all.

Alexander is a Division I prospect on the hardwood, too, and as of now he is leaning toward playing basketball when he goes to college.

“My goal is probably basketball,” Alexander said. “… I’m not really sure which I think I’m better at, but ever since I was a kid growing up in Chicago it’s always been about basketball for me.”

Shooting guard David Cohn (Elmhurst, Ill./York H.S.) committed to new Colorado State head coach Larry Eustachy on Tuesday, ESPN Chicago's Scott Powers is reporting.

Cohn held offers from nearly 20 schools, including Bradley, Central Michigan, St. Louis, Santa Clara and Southern Illinois, before deciding on the Rams.

"Coach Eustachy and (assistant Niko) Medved did a great job," Cohn's AAU coach Mike Mullins told ESPN Chicago. "David's an explosive scorer, athletic and gritty defender. His best days are ahead of him as he gains strength to match his skills and athletic ability."

Cohn joins Paris Junior College (Texas) power forward Marcus Holt as 2013 Colorado State commitments.

Multiple sources are reporting that 6-foot-4 shooting guard Mislav Brzoja (Croatia/Traders Point Christian) has committed to Northwestern.

The 6-foot-4 Brzoja chose the Wildcats over offers from Bradley, Dayton, Marquette and serious interest from Kentucky.
