Colorado 'right place' for '14 PG Collier
By Reggie Rankin
Four-star point guard Dom Collier (Denver/East) picked in-state Colorado on Tuesday night over Arizona, Colorado State, Iowa, Kansas State, Stanford and Tulsa, among others, and put the Buffs on the board in the Class of 2014.
"Colorado was the right place for me,” Collier said. “My relationship with the coaching staff was better than all the others and the way Coach (Tad) Boyle has turned the program was very attractive.
"I like their style of play. I like to run and create for my teammates."
The Buffaloes are getting a true point guard who has an excellent feel for the game and loves to get his teammates involved and run the team. Collier is a very good decision maker, understands what needs to be done and then carries it out.
This spring at the NY2LA Spring Extravaganza, Collier controlled the game from beginning to end. When the game was on the line and he needed to score and draw fouls, that is just want he did for his KC Run GMC AAU team.
The Buffs have landed a lead guard who will run the show in Boulder at a high level for years to come.
"I have taken several unofficial visits during the basketball season and Coach Boyle said we will set up an official visit in the fall and celebrate," Collier said.
