Three-star senior Jon Severe (Middle Village, N.Y./Christ the King) was recently reported to be nearing a decision, but that is no longer the case according to what the sharp-shooting guard told ESPN.com.
“I really wasn’t ready. I thought I was and then I changed my mind,” he said. “I’ll know when I’m ready now.”
When we last caught up with Severe in late October, he was focusing on three Atlantic 10 schools -- St. Bonaventure, Rhode Island and George Washington -- and still considering a decision before November’s early signing period.
Since he now won’t be able to sign until after the season, Severe said he sees no reason to rush his decision.
“I don’t have a timetable. I’m just worrying about our season,” he said. “Every time we win more good stuff happens, so I’m just concentrating on the season right now.”
That “good stuff” is the emergence of more and more high-major schools starting to express interest.
