Ollie extension impacts UConn recruiting

Kevin Ollie was given a five-year contract extension as UConn’s head coach on Saturday, just three months after being named Jim Calhoun’s successor.
While Ollie had become accustomed to answering questions about UConn’s uncertain future during his previous two seasons as Calhoun’s assistant and lead recruiter, in many ways the last three months were even more challenging from a recruiting standpoint.
Yes, Ollie had been named the program’s head coach. But with a contract that didn’t extend beyond this season and Calhoun now officially retired, there was more uncertainty than ever.
