When ESPN 100 power forward Chris Perry (Bartow, Fla./Bartow) announced he is headed to South Florida, head coach Stan Heath added another high-level post presence to go along with fellow ESPN 100 center John Egbunu (Fort Walton Beach, Fla./Fort Walton Beach). They will join point guards Drew Davis, who is a high school teammate of Egbunu, and Josh Heath, who is the son of coach Heath, in the Class of 2013 to date.
Perry is a big and physical low post who can make plays low and at the high post. He has good hands and touch with his back to the basket and uses that to score with power drop steps and jump hooks, in addition to being a powerful finisher through contact. In the high post, Perry can hit the free throw line jumper but needs time and space and can execute a one- or two-dribble straight-line drives. He is a good passer from that area as well. He is also a strong in-area rebounder in traffic with a combination of length and strength.
