Power forward Jalen Hayes (Lansing, Mich./Sexton) has committed to Oakland over offers from Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, St. Bonaventure and Akron.
"I am very comfortable with the coaching staff, especially coach [Greg] Kampe and coach Saddie Washington," said Hayes. "Oakland was the best and perfect fit. The playing style, offense, academics. Everything was a good fit and connected together well."
At 6-foot-7 and about 200 pounds, Hayes is long and skilled, with terrific upside. He will be a good fit as a combo-forward in the Grizzlies' dribble-drive style offense and could potentially cause matchup problems.
