According to my colleague, Fran Fraschilla, "playing hard is a skill" and he is absolutely right.
Walk into any practice and you should hear coaches using words such as hard work, passion, intensity, effort, energy, motor and urgency. At times, players can rely on their reputation and God-given ability, but the truth is "hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard."
