Butler capitalizing on Atlantic 10 move

Those wondering whether or not Butler’s move to the Atlantic 10 would impact their recruiting strategies got their answer on Saturday when head coach Brad Stevens landed a verbal commitment from New England prep senior Andrew Chrabascz (Portsmouth, R.I./Cushing Academy).

The Bulldogs haven’t had much of a recruiting presence in the Northeast under Stevens. In fact, Duke redshirt freshman Alex Murphy is probably the only notable prospect in the last five years to have had any sort of serious recruitment from Butler.

However, with the Bulldogs' move to the Atlantic 10, it’s only natural that Butler begins to explore the Northeast. When the Bulldogs identified Chrabascz, a player who already held scholarship offers from the vast majority of the Atlantic 10, they pursued him as hard as any other school that was recruiting him.
