NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. -- The Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) finals at the Peach Jam featured many of the nation's top talents and travel teams, but in the end the Oakland Soldiers emerged victorious in the U-17 bracket. Here is a look at the top performers from the last day of competition:
Aaron Gordon (San Jose, Calif./Archbishop Mitty)
2013, PF, 6-8, 220 pounds
After being out for the past two months with an injury, Gordon has returned with a bang. He is an athletic force who plays with as much energy as anyone else in the country. He had 12 points in his team's semifinal victory over CP3 and 16 points and 10 rebounds in their championship win over CIA Bounce. Gordon scores most of his points in the paint, but he is a pretty solid ball handler and an improving shooter with range to 17 feet. He is without a doubt one of the top 10 prospects in the country.
