OAKLAND, Calif. -- There was not a better way to punctuate the last session of the EYBL then to witness the matchup between the top two players in the Class of 2013, Jabari Parker and Julius Randle. Parker, a 6-foot-7 wing out of Simeon High School in Chicago, used his polished skill set and savvy to penetrate the Team Texas Titan defense. He had a few smooth two-dribble pull-ups as well as a couple of nifty finishes in traffic.
Meanwhile, Randle, a 6-8 chiseled combo-forward put together some explosive drives to the basket (quick first step) and utilized his strength to get to the free throw line repeatedly. Overall, Parker is the more polished prospect of the two stalwarts, but Randle’s upside may be greater due to his physical prowess, athleticism and areas of needed improvement (post-up game and rebounding out of his area).
