The Duke Blue Devils are off to another great start offensively, averaging 87 points per game while moving the ball, creating 16.3 assists and shooting over 50 percent from the field. This team can shoot from long range, play fast, score a lot of points and do all the things we’re used to seeing out of a Mike Krzyzewski club.

But as many of us have talked about at great length recently, the rule changes put into effect this season that promote freedom of movement are changing the game -- and for Duke, the defense is paying the price.

I was in Las Vegas recently and had a conversation with former Duke assistant and current Northwestern head coach Chris Collins. We agreed that no team in the country would possibly be hurt more by the rule changes than his former squad.
