Kevin Seraphin's right knee issue

Kevin Seraphin recently accepted his 2014 qualifying offer worth $3.89 million, instead if pursuing a multi-year deal with the Washington Wizards. Before signing the contract, Seraphin had right knee surgery due to an issue that hindered him for a good portion of last season. As a result of the procedure to clean out his knee, Seraphin is going to miss playing for France during the Basketball World Cup, which begins in late August.

The Washington Wizards have been without backup center Kevin Seraphin since Feb. 23 due to increased swelling in his right knee. There is a good chance he'll be available for the Wizards next game, according to CSN Washington.

The Washington Wizards will be without starting power forward Nene for about six weeks due to a sprained left MCL. They may bring in a big man to fill the 15th spot on the roster, however two players currently on the team need to step up for the duration on the 2013-14 regular season. Those players are Trevor Booker and Kevin Seraphin.

Kevin Seraphin has done a solid job the last two years when given time on the floor and he has worked hard this offseason with the plan to have a larger role in 2013-14. In fact, he is so dedicated to the Washington Wizards that he decided to work out at the training facility instead of playing for France at EuroBasket 2013, which they won on Sunday.

Who steps up for Okafor?

The injury problems that have plagued Emeka Okafor throughout his career popped up again on Wednesday with the news out of Washington that the veteran center will be out indefinitely after being diagnosed with a herniated disc in his neck. What a big blow to Okafor and the Wizards.

So where do the Wizards, which were already thin at center, turn from here if Okafor can't make it back for the start of the regular season? Lets look at their options.

Klutch Sports adds Termini and Seraphin

Rich Paul, LeBron James' agent, made the news cycle on Tuesday when ESPN.com's Brian Windhorst reported fellow agent Mark Termini has agreed to be an advisor for Klutch Sports.

According to Windhorst, Termini will help during contract negotiations.

Paul started his own agency after he left Creative Artists Agency. Paul represents James, Eric Bledsoe, Tristan Thompson, Cory Joseph and now Kevin Seraphin, who dropped Comsport's Bouna Ndiaye.
