Does Karl firing affect Iggy's decision?
By Nick Borges
Andre Iguodala has until the end of the month to decide if he wants to collect a guaranteed salary of $16.15 million next season or opt to join the 2013 class of free agents. The firing of George Karl on Thursday was a major jolt around the NBA on Thursday. Will it have any impact on Iguodala's decision?
“Good question. Need some time to let it sink in," Iguodala told NBA.com's David Alridge.
Iguodala has said he wants to play for a team that can contend for a title. While Karl was a successful regular season head coach, he could only get the Nuggets out of the first round once. Should the Nuggets hire a head coach that he likes, Iguodala will likely stay with the Nuggets.
Iguodala will likely only exercise his ETO (early termination option) if he and his agent have a good idea that a multi-year deal is coming in July or if the Nuggets are willing to sign him to an extension.
