Porter in mix for top pick?
By Nick Borges
The Cleveland Cavaliers own the No. 1 pick in the 2013 NBA draft and at this time no decision has been made on who they will take. Most draft pundits have the Cavs taking Kentucky's Nerlens Noel, but the choice might be a small forward from Georgetown.
Michael Lee of The Washington Post writes: "A source with knowledge of the Cavaliers’ thinking said Otto Porter is under consideration to go No. 1."
The Cavs need a small forward and ESPN.com's Chad Ford is one who thinks Porter is in the mix for the first selection in the draft, however in the end Noel will be the pick. Kentucky head coach John Calipari told The Plain Dealer that no team in the NBA spent more time in Lexington than the Cavs.
"Chris Grant has been in our building more than any other GM," said Calipari. That's no disrespect to any other GM. That's just a fact. He and his staff are very thorough in what they've done. That's why I say I hope he gets drafted by them.''
Ford has the Wizards taking Porter with the No. 3 pick in his Mock Draft 3.0.
