Nash's recovery timeline
By Joe Kaiser
The season may be over for Steve Nash and the Los Angeles Lakers, but the recovery process is not for the 39-year-old point guard who missed games 3 and 4 against San Antonio with a hamstring injury. How long will it take Nash to be back to full strength?
According to this tweet by the Lakers today, Nash will continue to work with the team's training staff daily and expects to be back to 100 percent in about a month.
That time frame means that Nash should be completely healthy by the start of next season, but given Nash's numerous injuries and 32 missed games this season, we have to wonder how well he'll hold up in the years ahead.
He is signed for two more seasons, will turn 40 right after the all-star break next season, and even if healthy may not ever be quite the player the Lakers hoped he'd be when they signed him. It will be interesting to see if the Lakers try to bring in a young point guard to play behind Nash and eventually become his replacement.
