Maloofs ultimatum to Sacramento
By Nick Borges
The Maloofs already have a binding agreement with Chris Hansen's group and the current owners of the Sacramento Kings have given the city of Sacramento until Friday at 5 pm to sign a similar document, according to The Sacramento Bee.
State Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg says Sacramento's offer is "strong and fully competitive."
"I don't want to get too precise here, but it is as strong as the Seattle offer," said Steinberg. "It is equivalent to the Seattle offer."
Hansen's group reportedly agreed to pay $341 million for 65 percent stake in the team.
Sacramento will probably keep the team if the Hansen bid is matched and a plan to build a new area is finalized soon.
