Knicks to waive Thomas, sign Singleton
By Nick Borges
The New York Knicks have an injury crisis going on with most of their big men and Wednesday the decision was made to bring in some help -- James Singleton.
According to ESPNNewYork.com, the Knicks have agreed to a contract with Singleton, likely signed though 2013-14. Singleton played in China this season and he averaged 15.1 points and 11 rebounds with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers.
Singleton is a five-year NBA veteran and he last played with Washington in 2011-12.
The Knicks need to open up a roster spot before they can sign Singleton and the New York Daily News reports Kurt Thomas will be waived. Thomas is set to have surgery next week to fix the stress fracture in his right foot.
