Manu's availability for first round in doubt
By Nick Borges
UPDATE: The Spurs announced Monday night that Manu Ginobili will need three to four weeks to recover from the strained right hamstring, which means he might miss most if not all of the first round of the playoffs.
“Pray to God Manu can heal quick,” Stephen Jackson told the San Antonio Express-News.
Ginobili's absence will likely see Danny Green play more minutes as a starter and Gary Neal and Jackson off the bench.
Manu Ginobili has already missed 14 games in 2012-13 due to various injuries and he might be sidelined for the final 17 days of this season with a right hamstring strain.
“It could (stretch into the playoffs),” Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich told the San Antonio Express-News. “We don’t know how his leg is going to react. We’re doing everything we can.”
The Spurs should end up as the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, however their chance to make the NBA Finals will take a major hit if Ginobili isn't reasonably healthy for the playoffs.
