K-Mart prefers to re-sign with Knicks
By Nick Borges
The New York Knicks currently have an eight-game winning streak and they're doing it with Kenyon Martin playing the center position due to all the injuries in the frontcourt. Martin's contract expires in June and he hopes to re-sign with the Knicks.
“I would love to stay a Knick,” Martin tells The Boston Globe. “I don’t want to go nowhere. I am proving to this organization what I can be and who I am as a person on and off the court, and I think they see that. I’m here now and I’m going to make the best of this opportunity.”
Martin was signed to the veteran minimum for the duration of this season in March and he will likely seek the $3.1 million taxpayer mid-level exception from the Knicks and they should give him most, if not all of it with the way he can help the team.
