Foot injury slows Chalmers
By Tom Carpenter
Mario Chalmers had been playing some of his best ball this season during the Miami Heat's epic winning streak, but apparently he recently sustained a foot injury, which could put his solid play in doubt. According to Ira Winderman of the Sun-Sentinel, Chalmers skipped Friday's shootaround due to the foot injury that he suffered during the Heat's Wednesday loss to the Chicago Bulls.
It's not clear yet whether he will be able to lace 'em up when the Heat battle the New Orleans Hornets Friday evening, but he may not be at full strength if he does play. Chalmers' averages in scoring (10.3 PPG), shooting (45.5 FG%, 91.4 FT%) and 3-point production (2.0 3-PPG) over 16 games this month are all season-high marks for any month this season. So long as his foot injury doesn't slow him much, Chalmers should be able to continue being a quality source of 3s and steals for fantasy teams as the Heat coast towards the postseason.
