Parker's latest injuries
By Tom Carpenter
Tony Parker made an early return from his sprained ankle and still isn't quite 100 percent. During Wednesday's game, Parker picked up some new injuries to go with his bum ankle, according to the San Antonio Express-News' Jeff McDonald. Parker now has a sprained right middle finger and sore knees.
"Parker briefly lost feeling in the finger, but returned to finish with 18 points and seven assists. Precautionary X-rays were negative," wrote McDonald.
"Also nursing two knee contusions left over from a physical game against Denver, Parker did not participate in the Spurs’ light practice Thursday, using it as a recovery day. At best, the sore finger is a mild annoyance to a player who has already spent the majority of March on the injured list."
Since the San Antonio Spurs battle the Los Angeles Clippers Friday evening, it would be a major surprise if Parker isn't in the starting lineup, but clearly he won't be at full strength. Considering that he is dinged up, there remains a pretty good chance that we'll see a DNP-CD or two in the box scores in the waning weeks of the season.
