Wall wants to keep Webster

By Nick Borges

Martell Webster is having a solid season with the Washington Wizards since he’s been able to stay healthy and he should draw plenty of interest in the free agent market. John Wall likes having Webster on the team and he wants the swingman to stay put.

“I already talked to Ted [Wizards owner Ted Leonsis],” Wall told the Washington Examiner. “That’s an easy, hands down question about trying to get [Webster] back here because him being a free agent, there’s a lot of people that are going to come after him.”

Webster would like to re-sign with the club, however he’ll likely choose the team that is offering the best contract.

“I would love to be here next year,” Webster said. “But this is a business, and we’ll see what happens. I’m having an extraordinary time here. The city is great, the fans are great and my teammates are awesome. Freakin’ awesome. Really freakin’ awesome.”

Webster is currently the third-best three-point shooter in the NBA as he is hitting 45.3 percent of his shots from behind the line.
