Beaubois' uncertain future with Mavs
By Nick Borges
Rodrigue Beaubois is set to become a free agent on July 1 and the question is will he be restricted or unrestricted. The Dallas Mavericks want to maximize their cap room in July and based on all his injuries and poor play the team may think $3,271,952 is too much to guarantee him next season.
That is the amount of his qualifying offer and should it not be tendered by June 30, Beaubois will be an unrestricted free agent and his days in Dallas likely over. Beaubois says he's not looking that far ahead.
“Right now I just don’t think about it,” Beaubois tells the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “The season is not finished yet, so I just need to make sure I keep working and get better.”
Currently Beaubois is the third-string point guard behind Darren Collison and Mike James.
