Latest on D12's conditioning
By Tom Carpenter
Dwight Howard said that the tight undershirt he wears beneath his uni actually has served an important purpose as he continues to heal from offseason back surgery and his nagging shoulder malady, according to the Los Angeles Daily News' Mark Medina.
"It does a pretty good job in keeping everything straight as far as my back and my shoulder," Howard said. "It makes sure everything is aligned. A lot of people think it's a regular polo T, but it's not. It's a shirt that was made strictly for posture."
Howard added that the shirt has helped him not feel as numb in recent games. That numbness is an issue for Howard speaks to the gravity of his health. D12 has been putting in extra time on his conditioning, but Lakers strength and conditioning coach Tim DiFrancesco said that Howard is not even close to full strength.
"He's probably at 75 percent," DiFrancesco said. "We've been getting him back to what it was."
We likely won't see him 100-percent healthy until next season, which means that whichever team gives him a max contract will have to take a leap of faith this summer.
