Offense improving for Pacers?
By Joe Kaiser
Defense has been the name of the game for the Indiana Pacers under coach Frank Vogel, with offense being the continual issue. There are signs, though, that the team is starting to improve in that department.
The Pacers came in at No. 7 this week in Marc Stein's updated NBA Power Rankings, and their uptick in offense in recent weeks gives reason to believe they could rise even higher.
"The NBA's best defensive team was supposed to start scoring once Danny Granger returned, but Indiana's O got healthy before he did," writes Jared Wade of 8 Seconds, 9 Points. "Averaging 100.7 ppg over the last 10 games raises hope that the Pacers might be able to win games at both ends."
It'll be interesting to see if Granger's return takes Indiana's offense to another level, as many expect it to, or somehow messes up the chemistry that's formed with Paul George and David West handling the scoring load so far this season.
